The East Course greens have declined dramatically in the past two months, as can be seen by the bare patches and thin turf grass density of many greens. This was caused by the high rainfall, overcast conditions and high wear and tear during this time. With these environmental conditions combined with heavy traffic, the turf grass is easily stressed thus providing a perfect environment for disease.
We have had to take some dramatic measures in terms of raising mowing heights, verti-draining, and regular topdressing. The combination of various fungicides has stopped the decline, however the damage has already been done and recovery will take some time. |

This is an unfortunate period that caused the greens to decline to this stage, however please be assured that the Club will undertake all the necessary maintenance and practices to make the recovery of the greens as fast as possible.
The architect will also be confirming and providing the East Course Master plan for the members to view in the clubhouse as soon as it is approved. |
