ENHANCEMENT AND UPGRADE FOR SIME DARBY LPGA MALAYSIA

The upgrading work on the East Course, such as reshaping and redesigning to lengthen the distance, was completed at the end of May this year. The work that had been carried out included weeding, repairing buggy tracks, tidying up uneven areas and replanting damaged areas to ensure that the course is playable once it is open for play.

GREEN

Like the West Course, the green maintenance, such as aeration, verticutting, top dressing, fertilizing and pesticides application, is carried out based on a fixed schedule. The height of cutting has been gradually reduced to 3.3mm. Consequently, the putting surface is more firm and fast enough for the golf ball. Few greens were extended, specifically Hole 4, 5, 9, 10, 13, 16 and 17.

FAIRWAYS

Fairway verticutting and top dressing were done in April. The fairway widths have also been re-aligned to the 22m to meet the requirement for the Sime Darby LPGA Tournament.

TEE BOXES

Few tee boxes were extended the distance further back, ie Hole 5, 6, 9, 11, 17 and 18.
